The challenge

• Tenant app selection after procurement of security and base building systems created compatibility friction with existing technologies, requiring flexibility and creative thinking from all parties.
• Ease of future maintenance: open-sourced data & device nomenclature implemented across systems for consistent labeling; identification & correction of naming schema required deep knowledge of each.
• Implementation & design of smart infrastructure was new to most contractors, requiring diligent training to keep project aligned on the intentions behind the integrations and technical requirements.
• Delivery of complex use cases required extensive coordination to evaluate compatibility and navigate multi-system interdependencies.
• Coopers Cross was delivered by an international team, illuminating regional industry idiosyncrasies; for example, assumptions about fire zoning and BACnet object definitions based on local experience.

• Tenant app democratizes the benefits of control, analytics, and integrated technologies to building occupiers as well as to building managers.
• Scalable options for tenants to create their own smart space ecosystems equally optimized and efficient as base building; a Tenant Construction Manual facilitates seamless integration of systems.
